!"My two horses have very different needs - the 20+ year old Appendix QH with poor, flat feet that are sore and chip to pieces without shoes, and the 10 year old TWHx with giant feet, an attitude to match, and a difficult gait.

I had just about given up on my older horse ever being comfortable. And my younger horse ended up shod in front because his feet were chipping...but he forged so badly, he lost a shoe the first week. Plus, his gait was even more pacey with the shoes on.

Andrea is kind of a "friend of a friend" through the internet, and that friend did me the huge favor of referring me to Andrea. My TWHx is almost mannerly with her, and Andrea seems to have infinite patience with him, and his feet have become stronger. His gait is currently the best I've ever ridden.

My older horse has taken longer. He has been abused and neglected through his life, and his legs are just plain crooked. His previous farrier tried to cut his feet straight, and also squeezed him into shoes a little bit too small. But Andrea has worked with the horse's natural crookedness, trimming him to be healthy with his weird legs. We did a round of casts, but after a couple of trims, he seemed so much more comfortable. His feet have become much more concave, and his heels are starting to expand. I feel like he'd have probably been euthanized by now if there wasn't an alternative to farrier trims."

"I am a rare owner of a Tennessee Walking horse smack in the middle of Texas.  For several years, I searched for a farrier who could naturally trim my mare and allow her to retain her beautiful, gentle natural gait.  Previous farriers had 1) "corrected" her natural cow-hock - making her strike her feet together so badly that it ended up cutting her; 2) left too much sole so that she had no traction; 3) recommended heavy keg shoes, etc.  Finally, a friend recommended Andrea after she had rehabilitated my friend's badly foundered horse.
Immediately after Andrea trimmed Diva, I noticed a drastic improvement in her gait, her coordination, and her suppleness. Especially with a TWH, their trim is SO important to their ability to gait properly.  The only other farrier who could equal Andrea's skill was the barn farrier where I bought Diva - a gentleman who had cared for hundreds of Tennessee Walking show horses for many many years.  Wow - now that's a recommendation!

Finally, I must say that I so appreciate Andrea's calmness and strength when it comes to my horses.  (I also own a crotchety old Arabian gelding who tries to kick every farrier he sees.  Andrea is the only farrier I've used who hasn't tried to beat or sedate him.)  I can't give a strong enough recommendation for this fantastic and promising young PROFESSIONAL farrier!"

"We were first-time horse (well, pony!) owners, with an easy-keeper welsh pony that we loved and fed, and foundered.  I felt so guilty by the time I figured out what was going on that I hated to ask anyone for help - and I figured out pretty fast that most farriers don't want to drive out as far as we live for one little pony.

I came across Andrea, as well as a couple others.  I contacted them all, and of all of them Andrea was the only one who sounded like she actually cared about one little pony.  She came out, trimmed up the pony, helped me a ton with advice about what to feed and not feed, encouraged me (without making me feel worse for where we were starting!) and got us started over on the right hoof, so to speak...

Now the pony is doing great!  She seems so much more comfortable all the time, and her gait is natural and relaxed and so pretty!  And Andrea even sends me reminders about when she's due for a trim.

I may have found her by accident, but she is definitely just what we needed.  Thanks, Andrea!"
